Preparing for a Workshop

Highlights

2024 Workshops will be held for 5-8th graders. If you have a child outside that grade that would like to attend, send me an email at studyskillswithsessions.com
Click on "Register for a workshop here" below or visit the Payment & Registration page.
When you go to register, select the date you want your child to attend.
Wednesday am workshops will be from 9-10a
Thursday pm workshops will be from 6:30-7:30p
A legal guardian must be present for drop off and pick up.
Your child may want to bring a water bottle and a snack (no open containers).
Phones will be placed on silent. You will receive an email once you have registered containing my cell phone number. You can text me if you need to speak with your child.

What your student can expect

General Information

Workshops last 1 hour which include an introduction and a few short breaks mixed within the curriculum. Basic supplies will be supplied, but students are encouraged to bring their own if they prefer (pen/pencil, notebook). Students may want to bring a water bottle.

Curriculum

The curriculum will vary from each workshop, but majority will focus on major topics within the subjects of organization, time management, and study skills. Other workshops may be specific to study resources, test-taking techniques, note-taking skills, etc... Please see the calendar to see what is being offered next!

Who & Where

Age groups will range depending on the subject of the workshop. The workshops will be held at The Playful Family, Inc located in Fruit Cove. The Playful Family is an excellent resource for families and I encourage you to learn more about the services they offer.

Introduction Session

Before a session is topic-specific, based on your child's needs, an introduction session is highly recommended. This gives me a chance to learn your child's resources provided by the school, the subjects they are taken, and what practices are used.

The Details

A session is typically 1 hour long with a $40/hourly rate. There is a discounted rate ($35) for five or more sessions.

Schedule & Location

I can meet with your child once, biweekly, or we can figure out another schedule. Session times and locations will be discussed. Most sessions will be conducted at a local library in a reserved quiet room. However, this is all something we can discuss and find what works best for you and your family. I'm also available for an "emergency" zoom session if your child needs last minute help preparing for an exam.
